Marc Potvin Biography

Marc Potvin was born on 29th of January in the year 1967. He was a professional ice hockey player. He played professional ice hockey for the national Canadian ice hockey team. Marc also played in the National Hockey League. Denis Potvin and Jean Potvin were his cousins. Marc was born in Ottawa which is situated in Ontario. Since childhood he was attracted to the particular sport of ice hockey. This was only possible because of his family. His family already was attached to the particular sport of ice hockey. Marc’s cousin, Denis Potvin was included in the team of Detroit Red Wings particularly in the 9th stage.

In his entire ice hockey career, Marc Potvin played for 4 different teams that are included in the National Hockey League. From the year 1990 till 1991, Marc was in the team of the Red Wings. This particular player played in the team of Los Angeles Kings from the year 1991 to 1992 and from the year 1993 to 1994, he played for Hartford Whales.

From the season of 1994 to the 1996, Marc played for Boston Bruins. In his entire career, Marc played 121 National Hockey League games. In all these matches, he was successful in scoring three goals and had also done 5 assists for getting a total of eight points. Potvin had also amassed around 456 penalty minute. He failed to score any goal in 13 playoff games of National Hockey League. In these playoffs, he had made only one assist and around fifty penalty minutes. After the season of 1996, he announced his retirement from the game of ice hockey. He did not have an inspiring ice hockey career. He is regarded as a very average ice hockey player who could not achieve any distinct award in his entire ice hockey career.

Marc Potvin was appointed the assistant coach for the team of Adirondack Red Wings which is a part of the American Hockey League. He became the assistant coach in the season of 1998-99. After this season a drastic change came in his coaching career. From assistant coach, Marc Potvin became the chief coach of the Mississippi Sea Wolves which is a part of the ECHL he stayed with this team for only one season. Then, he came to Springfield Falcons which is also the part of AHL. He stayed with this team particularly for two seasons. He was appointed as the head coach for the Adirondack Ice Hawks for the season of 2003-04.
